At the Western Front Visitor Centre, under the King Albert I Memorial, will you will learn all about the flooding of the Yser Plain to halt the advance of the Germans in late October 1914. The very many original objects are complemented with a digital projection of the stunning panoramic painting by war artist Alfred Bastien. A new temporary exhibition is held there every year.
You can also enjoy the magnificent view of the King Albert I Monument. The Western Front Visitor Centre with a view of the "Ganzepoot" lock complex, a visit to the equestrian statue and a tour on top of the monument.
